Affordable Housing

Jennifer Beeston • December 5, 2018

Affordable housing is a huge issue in our country. HUD considers anyone paying more then 30% of their income towards housing as cost burdened and may have difficulty affording basic life expenses such as food. In many parts of our country I would argue the average housing payment is 42% of the majority of buyer’s income. It is out of control, right? Yes, well what is more out of control is that in cities and counties across the United States there are first time homebuyer programs designed to make a housing payment affordable which are not being utilized. Yes, money sitting waiting to be spent to help people
afford a home. How is this possible you ask? It is very simple. Cities and counties do not have the ability to publicize these programs. They cannot afford Facebook drip campaigns telling people about them and they do not market to Realtors of Lenders. It is time for that to change.

For Buyers :

If you feel you have been priced out and want to know if your city or county offers a first time home buyer program please reach out. We will look up the info for you and help you understand
what it means.

For Lenders:

If you are unsure about how to get the information on these programs reach out to me. Even if you work at a competitor, I am happy to help. The more people sharing this message the better!

For Realtors:

If you would like to know if one of these programs is available in your area reach out and we will get all the info and give you materials that break it down and make it digestible for your clients.

My 2019 goal is to help people spend as much affordable housing money as humanly possible. Help me reach this goal!

All my best,
Jen
